Privacy
This policy explains how TranslateImg handles information when you use our website, translation tools and account features. It covers the information needed to provide translations, manage credits and support the service.
1. Chrome extension
The Chrome extension uses Google sign-in and sends selected images or screenshot regions to our translation service, including images on domains where you enable automatic translation. Settings and cached account details are stored in your browser. Source-site cookies and authorization headers are not forwarded to our translation service. Result links can be opened by anyone who has the link; avoid submitting content that requires confidential access controls.
2. Information you provide
We process account information such as your email address and sign-in profile, images you upload, text recognized from those images, translation settings, results and messages you send to support. Upload only material that you have the right to use and avoid including sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for the task. We also process browser or device identifiers, referral and campaign information, and technical request logs such as IP addresses where collected by the service or its infrastructure.
3. Why we process information
We use information to authenticate accounts, perform translations, show task progress, deliver results, manage credits and purchases, respond to requests, investigate failures and protect the service from misuse. We also use usage information to understand which features help people complete their work.
4. Translation and infrastructure providers
Images and their text are transmitted to the translation providers required to process your request. The current standard image service uses Baidu image translation. Hosting, storage, authentication and email providers support delivery of the service. Data may be processed in countries other than your own; providers and locations may change as the service develops.
5. Payments and subscriptions
Stripe processes payments. TranslateImg may retain payment identifiers, subscription status, credit entitlements and transaction records to manage your account and resolve billing questions. Full card details are handled by the payment processor rather than stored in our application database.
6. Cookies and analytics
Authentication cookies keep you signed in. Browser storage can remember language preferences and cached account information. The website uses Google Analytics and page-view analytics to understand visits and product usage. Browser settings and available privacy controls may restrict cookies or storage; some account features depend on essential storage.
7. Storage and deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the requested service, support accounts, handle disputes and meet applicable record-keeping requirements. Task results may have a limited availability period shown in the product. This policy does not promise immediate deletion after translation. Contact support to request deletion; some transaction and security records may need to be retained separately.
8. Your choices and requests
You may contact support to request access to, correction of or deletion of account information, or to ask about processing. We may need to verify account ownership before completing a request. The rights and response requirements that apply depend on your location. Deleting a stored file or account does not necessarily cancel a subscription; manage billing separately.
9. Security, age and changes
We use access controls and operational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. The service is intended for people legally able to use it; it is not directed at children. We may update this policy as features or practices change and will show the revised date here. Contact support if you believe a child has submitted personal information.
